I was talking to someone the other day about why so many people dislike the recommendations from services like Netflix now. I remarked it is probably because of content licensing issues rather than the algoirthm/model itself.
This makes even more sesnse when I hear so many people mention that the TikTok recommendations are so dialed in. They have access to a huge amount of content so they can actually provide great recommendations without being hurt by benzintine licensing.
Maybe this goes away when everything is under one Disney+ subscription? Or Apple TV's cross-app search is everywhere?
